Lesson Activities
1. Welcome to the Star Room (5 minutes)
Begin by introducing the “Star Room.” Set the tone with soft lighting or star-themed visuals to spark curiosity and imagination.
2. Read Aloud or Independent Reading (15–20 minutes)
Students will read “The Star Room” from the book Magical Midnight Treats. This can be done as a read-aloud, partner reading, or silent independent reading depending on the class dynamic.
3. Reflect and Respond (15 minutes)
After reading, students will log into their Google Blogger accounts and respond to two comprehension or reflection questions about the story. These questions can focus on:
What was your favorite part of the story and why?
How did the main character feel when they entered the Star Room?
(Feel free to adjust questions based on your instructional goals.)
4. Creative Extension (Optional – 10–15 minutes)
Invite students to continue the story in their journals. Encourage them to imagine what might happen next in the Star Room or create their own magical room inspired by the stars.
